दान दिये धन ना घटे, कहि गये दास कबीर॥

Nadi ka ghata na neer doha meaning in English 

A sparrow flies away with a beakful of water. A river does not have any depletion of its water due to this. Similarly one does not decrease his wealth by donating.

One does not decrease his wealth by giving donations. A river does not experience any depletion of its water. Kabirdas wants you to see this on your own.

व्यक्ति प्रायः सोचते हैं कि दान देने से उनका इकट्ठा किया हुआ धन कम हो जाएगा। यहां पर कबीर दास जी/तुलसीदास जी बता रहे हैं कि दान देने से व्यक्ति का धन कभी कम नहीं होता, उलट इसके उसका धन सभी लोग भरने का प्रयास करते हैं। 

जैसे नदी में से एक चिड़िया अपनी चोंच में पानी भर के निकल जाती है तो जो नदी का पानी कम भी हुआ है उसकी भी पूर्ति पीछे से आने वाली धारा कर देती है। जिससे नदी का पानी बराबर बना रहता है।

इसलिए व्यक्ति को हमेशा उदार या दानशील रहना चाहिए। वह यदि दानी रहेगा तो उसका धन कभी घटेगा नहीं।
