If you want to make a career in teaching at the school level and your focus subjects are pedagogy and classroom management, then B. Ed is the right choice. If you aspire to teach at the college level or want to pursue a research career, then you can take the UGC NET exam.
Permanent Job: B.Ed degree holders would get a permanent job early rather than UGC NET Qualified. After passing the BEd degree, a candidate will have to qualify for CTET exam and then he can apply in any school. As per UGC norms, after qualifying for NET examination a candidate should have PhD degree to secure a job in College.
Vacancies: Central and State governments release every year in some thousands of teaching vacancies in schools, B.Ed candidates will get jobs earlier than UGC-qualified candidates. In colleges and universities, assistant professor vacancies for UGC qualified have been released in some tens.
Salary: UGC NET qualified candidates will get a higher salary than BEd qualified. As the candidate clears UGC NET and JRF, he can join as an ad hoc assistant professor in college. The candidate will also get a stipend and can also pursue a PhD degree.
Degree: BEd candidates will only get a professional degree and to get a job they have to qualify CTET exam. UGC candidates with JRF qualifications will have to pursue higher degrees i.e. PhD to become assistant professor.
