How can you reach Khajuraho?

You can reach by any means possible. Flight, train, bus, everything is available.

How to reach the tourist destination of Khajuraho?

The tourist destination is situated 9 km away from the railway station. Hire an auto-rickshaw up to Mahatma Gandhi marg/chauraha, Khajuraho. Mahatma Gandhi Chauraha lies in the middle of all the three tourist destinations viz Eastern, Western and Southern group of temples.

I can tell you mine. I live in Tikamgarh which is only 140 km away from Khajuraho.

You might be wondering how come food expenses are so low (less than a Dollar). Well, don't eat in a restaurant. There is this Jain 'Bhojanshala', where they provide you with cheap and pure vegetarian food. It opens from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Entry ticket fees to Western temples might cost ₹600 for the foreign visitors.

Although Duladeo lies near the eastern group of temples (in the South to be precise), it also has erotic sculptures.

These temples contain one of the most elegant architectures.

Other architectural attractions in the west

Chaunsath Yogini: it had 64 religious sculptures in the past. Now, it is one of the best places for meditation.

These temples have less erotic and more scientific architecture. Here the environment is peaceful. You can spot fine art here.

A Jain museum is also situated near the temples. But it was closed at the time of my visit. I took these photos from the window.

A clothing shop named Shramdaan is also situated near the temples. It provides handloom clothing. Though, rates are a little high, similar to most of the tourist places.

How many days are required to properly tour Khajuraho?

I toured Khajuraho in one day. But, I could not visit the southern temples like Duladeo. So, to properly tour Khajuraho, it would require a minimum of one full day without any rest, or 2 days with rest.

Now, the most important question: is Khajuraho safe to travel? You can find very friendly people here, who are always ready to help. You can also feel the village life here.
